Premium Rapidshare account for FREE

Guys, i am now able to give ONE 30 days FREE premium account with Rapid Share. It's possible that i'll be able to do that again once a month or something like that.

I would like to do a some sort of contest, so that we can "spice up" a little bit the forum. But i can't think of anything.
So...any ideas? What kind of contest we could do every now and then?

I'm open to suggestions as i don't really have a clue on what it could be! Laughing

My suggestion would be to give it to someone that posts a lot of clips and contributes a lot. A few names come to mind, but I won't list them and risk upsetting others. There are a select few that are constantly posting video clips. I'm sure you have an idea on who these folks are.

I realize this is subjective, but I really can't think of any types of contests.

I can't think of any contest. Just give it to a person who is active and has contributed a lot for the month, but make it a different person each month. My vote goes to Okmerlin for those great comics hes been adding.

Very good idea Nyllover. This should provide some additional incentive. Some thoughts:

As far as videos I can see a couple of ways you can go. You can announce a formal competition that runs from 1 August to 15 August. All videos submitted during that time will be subject to a vote that you can tally on 16 August. The best video wins the prize.

Or

You can accept nominations from members on who they think should win, based on the nominated members contributions. Most nominations or votes wins.

For future contests a few ideas come to mind offhand.

1. Caption a vidcap. Funniest caption wins the prize.
2. Newbies only. Members who have never posted before are the only ones eligible to win. They must recount their first or best experience. Vote on best submission wins.
3. Design a new/alternate website logo. It's not something you'd have to use all the time but perhaps display the winning entry for a month after the contest.

I wouldn't suggest a photoshop contest because not everyone has that capability (it would still be fun though). Let me think about this some more and I'll post again later.

Have people write essays on why they would like to have the free account and what they would do with it. Post the top five or so and have the membership vote for a week on whom they want to win.

It's too bad that Nyl can't grant say 2 per month
One could be chosen based on contributions....1st month could be Dead Parrot
I do like the idea of a reward of this nature for for loyal members. By the time October rolls around maybe I would be in line!! Laughing

The other could be chosen at random. We have so many members.
Then again some members might no think its fair for non-contributors to get such a gift. I guess that would be food for thought.

If Hot Legs N Feet awards a free membership, let me be on that waiting list!! Smile
